The McBurney Family Tree

31 October 2008 -
Made substantial corrections to the family of Selestine Whitmer and Susan Delawder.

18 February 2007 -
I have added correspondence with Rebekah Boyd into the “Smith Family of Smithville” and incorporated the information she supplied into this web site's genealogical database(s).

The “Smith Family of Smithville” document is available via the last menu item at left.

4 June 2006 -
I have transcribed the 1957, 46 page manuscript by Isabella V. Fonner titled “Smith Family of Smithville” (Smithville is now Dunkirk, Calvert County, Maryland). Her preamble reads, “Records collected from the Smith Family Bible, from Maryland Biographies and from personal letters and talks with older members of the Smith family. Also included are Wills, notes and some records of families allied with the Smith family through marriages.” If you have ancestors from the area, you might find the document of interest.

Since it almost a near certainty that I have failed to produce an error-free document please make me aware of any errors/issues you find.

The document is available via the last menu item at left.

17 May 2006 -
Straigthened out some throughly convoluted information on the Wetzel/Whetzel line (thanks to Kelly Cozzone).

15 April 2006 -
Added new information on the Prem/Eder line as well as the usual numerous minor corrections and entries. Also changed over from using PAF (LDS's Personal Ancestral File) to Roots Magic to generate my web pages.

25 February 2006 -
Numerous minor corrections and entries.

20 January 2006 -
Added the McArthur (my first wife and mother mother of my children was Mary Beth McArthur) line... all of it lifted from The MacArthur Family Tree Project at

http://mysite.mweb.co.za/residents/net03849/index.htm

Also, as usual numerous other minor corrections and entries as well.

7 December 2005 -
Much information on the Prem line has been added as a result of obtaining the services of German genealogist Eva Fintlemann.

Also, as usual numerous other minor corrections and entries as well.

28 October 2005 -
The major addition is the Baron de Roos (1170-1227) line from the book Magna Carta Ancestry: A Study in Colonial and Medieval Families, by Douglas Richardson which traces my George Yates - Mary Wells lineage back to the era of the Magna Carta. Neat stuff!

...numerous other minor corrections and entries as well.

2 January 2005 -
I have made several additions/corrections to the Leichlieter, Mueller and Whetzel lines

21 December 2004 -
I added information from "The Pocock, Steedman, VanSickle and Wessendorf Family Tree" web site.  We have common ancestors.  Interestingly enough, Dawn Lesley Pocock-Dilcher, who created the web site, also has a business as a genealogical research consultant.  How handy is that ?!

16 December 2004 -
My second wife and I divorced in 1995. At that time she left me two boxes of genealogical research that she had done on my side of the family (and that, at the time, I had not paid a great deal of attention to). I have finally gotten around to attempting to go through and record that information. It is all a bit overwhelming. The material on this web site is simply a first quick pass through the data she collected. There are 774 individual records and 302 marriages that I've recorded so far. My guess is that's something in excess of 90% of the available data. As time permits I will try to add to this and correct any errors of which I am sure there are many so check back from time to time.
